Azalea Plant bush and shrub
Posted (admin) in Plants on January-5-2008

Azalea bush is the popular flowering bush and foundation plant, with bright spring blooms. They are a member of Rhododendron family but the difference between the Rhododendron plant and an Azalea plant is that the Azalea is a deciduous bush. It sheds its leaves in the fall.

But the Rhododendron plant is evergreen. Azalea bush is also smaller in height, leaves, and blooms. In spring the flowers come out in white, lavender, bright orange, gold, red and purple colors.
Azalea Plant shrub: The Azalea plant shrub can grow in height from two to eight foot. A low lying area, or one protected by a building or a hedgerow is a good choice for growing Azalea shrubs. Flowering shrubs can provide the best landscape with eye-opening hedges. Azaleas shrubs grow slowly and rarely need pruning. To maintain a certain size or to increase the density of the growth, you can prune them immediately after they’ve completed flowering.
